The Capistrano Community Mariachi Program
strives to enhance the quality of life by engaging our
diverse community in high-quality music education. It
offers our youth with an alternative to gangs, drugs,
and other destructive activities, by promoting healthy
families through the involvement in learning mariachi
music individually and as a family. This program
strives to keep our youth safe and encourage them to
explore and expand the awareness of cultural arts
while becoming confident and productive citizens.
The Capistrano Community Mariachi Program was founded by
the Familia Ceja in September 2008 in the heart of San Juan
Capistrano, Orange County. CCMP became a registered 501(c)3
non-profit organization in 2010. For many years they had directed
a mariachi choir and had even created a children's group at San
Felipe de Jesus Church in Capistrano Beach, CA. They have
performed mariachi style masses all throughout Orange County
and had even guest-starred as a choir for 1020 A.M. Radio Mass on
Sunday mornings.
